What can I write for Ethos?
We welcome all works that can be submitted under the following two categories: non-fiction and literature. The following examples are meant to be inclusive rather than an exhaustive list.

What topics can I write about?
We welcome all topics relevant to the subject of medical ethics, law, and humanities. If you are unsure, check out our current editions as references.
What are the writing and submission requirements?

Articles should be between 500 and 1000 words in length (Only poems are exempted)

Submit your content in a Word document with a clear title and your name as the author, degree and year of graduation (E.g. LIU Cheuk Nam, MBBS, 2028)

Citation in Vancouver style

Relevant to the subject of medical ethics, law, and humanities.

Select an illustration that will be posted alongside your work. Ensure and declare that illustrations are devoid of copyright restrictions or be used with proper licensing and permissions.

We suggest writers to search for illustrations on copyright free or public domain media repositories. For your convenience, we have included a few website links that you may search for illustrations on. Please note this is not an exhaustive list, but merely a recommendation and resource:

What happens after you submit?

All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of student editors, Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit and The Centre for Medical Ethics and Law teachers, who will select content based on criteria such as newsworthiness, relevance, accuracy, quality, and diversity.

The team will contact you about your submission at a later date.

The Faculty reserve the right to edit your submission for length, clarity, and style. We will work with you to ensure that any changes are made with your approval and maintain the integrity of your content.
Where will my work be published?

Upon revisions, your work will be featured on our website, Instagram, and other social media accounts.
Eligibility
All undergraduates, post-graduates and staff in The University of Hong Kong.
